How to Bass Fish: A place to start
A lot of beginners will ask how to bass fish. Well you have come to the right place! This web site is all about bass fishing!
Some people think that it is as simple as throwing a line in the water and reeling them in. If only it was that easy….
Bass fishing requires skill, patience, and a lot of knowledge. We will take a look at a few requirements for “how to bass fish”. You will need an “edge” if you are to be successful.
Weather plays a big part in how to bass fish. The bass will like the top water lures more when it is cool out. They will also most likely be in the shallow water. And when it gets hot outside the bass will go deeper. This is when you will need to fish the bottom. Maybe something like an artificial worm. So your strategies that you use to catch the big ones will depend on the weather for sure.
The time of day is another important part. You will probably catch the “trophy” sized bass early in the morning or late at night. At these times the bass are waiting for smaller fish to eat. But other items would interest them just as much. This is most beneficial during the warmer times of the year.
You must also consider the quality and type of water that you are fishing in. If the water is muddy, the bass will use sounds and vibrations to stalk their prey. So you will need to use lures that make noise and vibrate. And clear water will call for a different approach on how to bass fish. They will be more cautious and harder to fool. Use light line and a lifelike lure. If there is algae and plant life to give your lures some cover, you can do a little experimenting.
When wondering how to bass fish a lot of people will ask about bait. Now that opens up a very large can of worms! Sorry, but I couldn’t resist that. But if you ask 10 people you will probably get 10 different answers. If you are in unfamiliar waters, I would ask someone who is there, just to see what they recommended. It would give you a starting point.
This is by no means the only how to bass fish methods, but rather will give you a couple of starting tips. Stay tuned and keep experimenting!
